If you’re a Lebanese citizen, then you have the right — and responsibility — to vote.

Vote From Anywhere.

If you’re a Lebanese citizen, then whether you’re living in Lebanon, or living abroad, you’re eligible to vote.

Claim Lebanese Citizenship.

If you’re a descendent of a Lebanese citizen, then you may be eligible to claim citizenship. Claiming your citizenship would also make you eligible to vote.

A Better Lebanon for All.

We’re all in this together, and voting for the alternative political parties is one way to turn the tide for Lebanon’s future. It’s time to prepare now.

Sawti’s Interactive Tool.

Whatever you need — from voting, to registering abroad, to claiming Lebanese citizenship — Sawti’s tool below will walk you through every step of the process.

Registration is Currently CLOSED

  • The sections below are only for informational purposes.

  • Step One: Decide where you will vote

Decide if you’re certain you will NOT be in Lebanon to vote.

When you register to vote from abroad, you will no longer have the option to vote within Lebanon in 2022. If you registered to vote from abroad in the previous election, and still wish to vote from abroad, then you will need to register again.

If it IS possible for you to travel to Lebanon to vote, then you may want to consider doing that. This is because it is still unclear what will happen with the 6 Seat Diaspora Law. For more information on this, read Sawti’s Instagram post here.

  • Step Two: Gather your documents

Whether registering online or in-person, you will need:

1: A Lebanese Passport OR a Lebanese ID (hawiye) OR a civil status extract (ikhraj kayd)*

2: Proof of your right to reside in the country you will be voting from. (e.g. visa, permit, passport, driver’s license, or other proof of residence document.)

*An ikhraj kayd is accepted for registration, however according to electoral law, you can only vote using a passport or ID (hawiye). Sawti is looking into clarification on this.

  • Step Three: Register online OR in-person

Diaspora registration will be open from October 1, 2021 through November 20, 2021.

Use the links below to either register online, or locate an embassy or consulate to visit in person.

Choose the country, city, and state (if applicable) of residence, as well as your nearest embassy.

  • 4. Search your name in the electoral lists

If searching in Arabic, you will be asked to provide the following personal information: your governorate, district, town, register number.

Locate your name, and if any information is incorrect, you will be able to modify it.

*Other languages will be available, but we are awaiting details.

  • 5. Upload required documents

1: A Lebanese Passport OR a Lebanese ID (hawiye) OR a civil status extract (ikhraj kayd)*

2: Proof of your right to reside in the country you will be voting from. (e.g. visa, permit, passport, driver’s license, or other proof of residence document.)
